Mia, an aspiring actress, serves lattes to movie stars in between auditions and Sebastian, a jazz musician, scrapes by playing cocktail party gigs in dingy bars, but as success mounts they are faced with decisions that begin to fray the fragile fabric of their love affair, and the dreams they worked so hard to maintain in each other threaten to rip them apart.
Mia (Emma Stone) and Seb (Ryan Gosling) are living in Los Angeles. Mia works in a cafe and dreams about the career of actress and Seb plays the piano in restaurants and hopes to open a jazz club. Their first and second random meetings are held in a raised voice, but is the third meeting of the "magic", and between the characters embark on an affair. Mia and Seb emotionally support each other and help each other to realize their dreams, but the closer is a success, the more difficult it becomes to be together.
